Ashlesha is the 9^th of the 27 Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology. Mercury is its ruler and relates to intellect, literature, etc. The meaning of Ashlesha is Naga, which equates with the serpent deity. Serpent god rules this star: thus, the people under this star have serpent-like qualities. These are being clingy, entwining, and embracing. It varies from 16:40′ to 30 [pt1] degree in Cancer or Kark.
